Ways To Get Involved

Whether it's fundraising, enrolling your child as a Nora Friend, bringing The Nora Project to your school, or volunteering to support our classrooms and communities, there are endless ways to join The Nora Project family! Check out all the opportunities the support the mission and get involved below.

Help us Grow

As we expand to more schools and build our community alumni programs, every dollar counts. There are lots of ways to raise money while raising awareness, and even while doing the things you do every day.

Dine with a purpose!

Having some friends over for dinner? Why not screen one of our student documentaries during cocktail hour, share personal stories among your guests over dinner, and collect tips on your fundraising page at the end of the evening to benefit The Nora Project?

Donate your big day!

Have everything you need? For your birthday or graduation or promotion or shower, ask for donations instead of gifts, and celebrate your milestone with meaning.

Take the empathy challenge!

Every day for a month, show someone you care. Post your empathy journey on social media with the hashtag #empathyis, and raise money for The Nora Project!

Race for a cause!

Whether you're running a mile or a marathon, use your next big race to bring empathy education to more classrooms, and life-changing friendships to more children.

We are recruiting students with disabilities to be “Nora Friends”-- the VIPs of the project who will visit participating classrooms and make new friends! Not sure whether your child is right for the project? Nora Friends generally fall into either or both of the following categories: (1) Children who may not be able to introduce themselves or tell their stories independently, or  (2) Children who, due to differences in how they look, move, or communicate, may find it challenging to make friends.

Educators and supporting staff are integral to The Nora Project mission. In order to teach empathy and promote inclusion in schools, we need administrators, teachers, and school social workers like you to join The Nora Project family. We train school staff on the ins-and-outs of the project every summer at our annual training camp, and we provide ongoing support and professional development to our participants as they administer the project at their schools  throughout the year. The Nora Project curriculum, training, and PD are free, and the organization provides iPads and other course materials to all participating classrooms at no cost. For more information on how to bring The Nora Project to your school, fill out the Educator Inquiry Form.
